Fla. cadets face off for National Activities spots, honors

About 100 Florida Wing cadets gathered recently at Patrick Air Force Base to compete for slots in the various Civil Air Patrol National Activities. The annual Florida Wing review process is held to evaluate cadets in different aspects of the program and to allow them to compete for a slot in one of the more 30 summer academies that CAP operates across the county.
FLORIDA WING MOURNS THE PASSING OF A BELOVED OFFICER

Lieutenant Colonel Jan Kendrick, an outstanding officer, mentor and leader passed away this morning at 10:30 am. Lt Col Kendrick will be remembered as a person that was wise, sweet, caring, professional and above all giving. She joined CAP in April of 1975 and served with distinction in many key leadership positions. The funeral arrangements are as follows: The viewing will be from 5:00 – 9:00 PM on Friday, January 11, 2008 at St. Fort’s Funeral Home. The funeral home is located at 16480 NE 19th Ave., North Miami Beach, FL 33612. The memorial Service is at 11:00 AM on Saturday, 12 January 2008 at the North Palm Baptist Church. The church is located at 7801 NW 178th St.
